What goes better together than chocolate and bananas? Try this recipe – it will quickly become one of your favorites!
Ingredients:
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup Southern Biscuit All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks
Preparation:
- Heat your oven to 350°F
- Butter a 9×5-inch loaf pan
- Sift dry ingredients into a bowl
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas
- Whisk in the melted butter,egg, brown sugar, and vanilla
- Combine the wet ad dry ingredients
- Stir in chocolate
- Pour into pan and back for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out batter-free
- Serve warm with ice cream!
This is our favorite recipe for banana bread. We’ve made it at least a dozen times. It’s so simple my nine year old can easily make it with minimal assistance. The only change in make is baking in a nonstick pan at 325. It always turns out perfectly. You can also add nuts or chocolate chips.
