    Double Chocolate Banana Bread

    What goes better together than chocolate and bananas? Try this recipe – it will quickly become one of your favorites!

    Ingredients:

    • 3 very ripe bananas
    • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
    • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1 cup Southern Biscuit All-Purpose Flour
    • 1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
    • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks

    Preparation:

    • Heat your oven to 350°F
    • Butter a 9×5-inch loaf pan
    • Sift dry ingredients into a bowl
    • In a large bowl, mash the bananas
    • Whisk in the melted butter,egg, brown sugar, and vanilla
    • Combine the wet ad dry ingredients
    • Stir in chocolate
    • Pour into pan and back for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out batter-free
    • Serve warm with ice cream!

      This is our favorite recipe for banana bread. We’ve made it at least a dozen times. It’s so simple my nine year old can easily make it with minimal assistance. The only change in make is baking in a nonstick pan at 325. It always turns out perfectly. You can also add nuts or chocolate chips.
